A jobless man who admits he is “horny” and obsessed with the traditional qipao was yesterday sentenced to two years’ probation after stalking two girls whose school uniform resembles the dress.
\nActing principal magistrate Bina Chainrai barred Tam Ka-ki, 31, from going near Heep Yunn School in Kowloon City for the next two years by slapping a 500-meter “no-go zone” around the school. Tam was ordered to get psychological counseling.<\/p>\n
Tam pleaded guilty to one count of loitering and another of intent to resist arrest.<\/p>\n
Police found several photos of the girls’ legs and uniform, and a notebook recording their holidays. Tam told officers he finds the qipao sexy and admitted he is a horny person.<\/p>\n

In sentencing, the magistrate said Tam’s psychological report shows he is obsessed with the qipao and students’ legs. It also said he received little sex education and that he does not know how to socialize with people.<\/p>\n
Chainrai accepted the report, which also said Tam has been spoiled by his parents since he was little.<\/p>\n
Tam’s stalking terrified the students although it may not have been maliciously intended, Chainrai said.<\/p>\n
The magistrate also said he was remanded in custody for a month, and that he had had a taste of what it was like to have no freedom.<\/p>\n
She believes Tam realized he acted stupidly and the chance of him reoffending is small so he got a light sentence.<\/p>\n
The court heard Tam stalked the two girls about 20 times over the past three years. One of them, who is 17, was followed for more than 10 times in 14 months.<\/p>\n
Tam even took the bus with the girl after school and followed her home to Tseung Kwan O. On one occasion, the victim was so afraid she hid in a shopping mall for half an hour and called her family for help.<\/p>\n
In March, another girl found that Tam was stalking her while she was on her way to the self-study room. She was terrified and asked her physical education teacher, Galen Lam Wai- keung, to drive her home.<\/p>\n
The next day, the girl noticed that Tam was stalking her again and she again sought help from Lam.<\/p>\n
Former Hong Kong athletics team member Lam, a previous record holder of the 110-meter hurdles, subdued Tam and called police. Tam was released on bail but arrested again in September for stalking the same girl.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
